Not sure if it’s really autumn yet, but nevertheless we are making an Autumn Sweater from the Independent in Somerville. This recipe we found in Frederic Yarm’s wonderful book “Drink & Tell”.
There is Averna in this cocktail and it blends very nicely with the applejack, being the base of the drink. And we were really excited having to open our latest bitter buy, a beautiful bottle of mole bitters from Dashfire. Some sweet vermouth and a sugar cube then complete this cocktail.
2 oz Applejack
0,25 oz amaro Averna
0,25 clear sweet vermouth
2 dashes mole bitters
1 sugar cube
Muddle the sugar cube with the bitters. Add all other ingredients, stir with ice, strain and pour.
