Happy New Year! How fast has this year passed! It is always slightly breathtaking to realize how quick another year has gone by. Exactly one year ago we were in Sydney, welcoming 2019 from the balconies of the Sydney Opera House. An unforgettable experience of course. This year we are celebrating back at home in Sweden which is also memorable in its own way. This cocktail is an original made by ourselves. Around the magic midnight countdown we usually prefer neat Champagne, but earlier

Carissa [https://www.instagram.com/thefermentedalaskan/] - we are your Secret Santé this year! We've been following you for a long while, and we have always felt drawn to your beautiful cocktail creations. Today we want to make a cocktail inspired by you in three distinctive areas: 1) You live in Alaska, and there is already a fantastic cocktail called Alaska. It is made with gin (sometimes old tom) and yellow Chartreuse. We riffed this a bit, still sticking somehow to the original idea of

This is a very Christmassy drink, it's frothy, spicy, creamy and boozy. The Zacapa 23 rum is a great choice in this drink, it blends very smoothly with the horchata. And with Christmas just around the corner, this is our way of wishing everybody a Merry Christmas! Nog Recipe by Josephine Sondlo Ingredients: 1,5 oz Zacapa 23 rum 1,5 oz horchata* Mixing: Shake both ingredients with fresh ice and strain into a glass. Grate some nutmeg over. *To make the horchata, mix 1 deciliter each of

Whenever we see a recipe by Sother Teague [https://www.instagram.com/creativedrunk/] we're always eager to mix it at home. The Waterproof Watch was no exception of course, and wow are we glad we tried it! This grown-up, boozy cocktail is a stunner! This is exactly the kind of cocktails we love a little bit extra. Dark, complex, mysterious, bursting with flavour - but yet so simple to make at home. With “clean” recipes like this one we're always selecting which bottles to use, with extra ca

This is another scotch cocktail that's really easy to make. You don't need a lot of bottles and you don't need a lot of equipment. Just stir scotch and sweet vermouth together. What we think is extra nice to do with these “simple” recipes though, is to serve them in the most elegant glassware we can find. An easy cocktail served in an intricate glass is so nice we think. In the cocktail on the photo we used Naked Grouse scotch and Antica Formula sweet vermouth. But any good scotch and sw

In today's cocktail we are using clear ice spheres, made by ourselves with a system we bought in Japan. The recipe doesn't specifically say to serve the drink over ice, but as these coupes are rather large we needed the ice as a filler. Also, those of you following the cocktail brainchild Morten over at @thecocktail.blog [https://www.instagram.com/thecocktail.blog/] are probably familiar with his #cubesincoupes movement, encouraging us to use ice also in cocktails served in coupes. And these

Today our friend Christina celebrates her fiftieth birthday, and we are so eager to present this Cocktail Detour Original recipe to her. We used rum and Aperol as the booze base, and added pineapple juice, simple syrup and fresh lime juice to balance everything. The pineapple juice creates a nice foam, as well as contributing with an exotic sweetness. We think it all works out really well and that it is the perfect birthday drink, with some tiki vibes. Happy Birthday Christina, we are c

Scotch & Gentlemen's Soda

Scotch & Gentlemen's Soda

Today's drink is a simple one to make, but an enjoyable to drink. Here we mixed Naked Grouse scotch with Three Cents Gentlemen's Soda. To add some nice bitterness we also incorporated a few dashes of barrel-aged Peychaud's. We built everything straight into a highball glass, garnished with a dehydrated citrus wheel and finally added a sustainable glass straw. No, it doesn't have to be more complicated than this. Scotch highballs are delicious! Scotch & Gentlemen's Soda Recipe Ingredient
