Cheers to you Mark of @marks.cocktail.lab [https://www.instagram.com/marks.cocktail.lab/] - we are your #SecretSanté 2020! In the research phase for this important task, we scrolled through your entire feed of cocktail photos. And wow, you make some stunning creations! Lately you've been presenting all your cocktails with a velvet black backdrop that certainly makes each drink pop. It looks truly beautiful! But it's actually the cocktail on your very first post, from April 2016, that inspi

Banana Calling

Banana Calling

Seeing banana liqueur in cocktails never fails to have us intrigued. Being frowned upon during the 80s and 90s - banana liqueur as of today can actually be a high quality ingredient, adding both an exotic taste and a nice balanced sweetness. Banana Calling Recipe found via Difford’s Guide Ingredients: 1,5 oz gin 0,25 oz banana liqueur 0,25 oz fino sherry 0,75 oz fresh lemon juice 0,25 oz simple syrup Mixing: Shake all ingredients with fresh ice and strain into a Nick & Nora glass. Gla

Lorikeet

Lorikeet

Yes the list of ingredients is long, yes juicing your own pineapple requires a big machine and yes letting that simple syrup extract the cinnamon flavors is time consuming. But it's all worth it. The Lorikeet is a very lovable cocktail with clear tiki vibes and a beautiful yellow appearance. We pimped it with golden pineapple cocktail picks, fresh pineapple leaves and reusable and sustainable straws. Lorikeet Recipe by Shannon Mustipher Ingredients: 2 oz rye 0,5 oz banana liqueur 0,25 oz

Flor de Caña [http://flordecana.com/] 12 years rum is Fair Trade certified, which makes this phenomenal rum even extra enjoyable. Also we absolutely love its toffee and vanilla notes, making it perfect to mix with other dessert associated ingredients. In this original cocktail, we mixed the Flor de Caña rum with banana and walnut liqueurs, tying it all together with dry fino sherry to balance the sweetness. The result is certainly a coupe full of loveliness, defined by the rum but with rat

When Cocktailpodden [https://www.instagram.com/cocktailpodden/] dedicated a full episode to banana liqueur we were inspired to find a really good recipe based on it, making full use of the banana's distinctive flavour. Because let's face it, banana liqueur had/has a bad reputation. Some ten-twenty years ago it was the go-to-bottle for those exotic, often super sweet and colourful drinks that were the bestsellers of most bars. Luckily things have changed, and today there are premium banana li

Beer Grylls

Beer Grylls

Beer cocktails we do not shake that often, but when seeing this recipe in Oskar Kinberg’s Cocktail Cookbook all we could do was to go and buy some wheat beer. Because mixing beer with rum, banana and honey sounded too interesting not to try. And we think the result was delicious! We had this drink together with a hamburger, as it seemed like a good drink to pair with food. Be careful though when pouring the beer into the glass with the other ingredients. A fantastic foam formed fast! Beer Gry

This $@&!' Bananas!

This $@&!' Bananas!

Cocktails with banana we think is fun. A few years ago banana liqueur was more or less frowned upon, most bottles available were either too sweet or too chemical…or both at once! Today it's different. And one of the reasons is Giffard's Banane du Brésil, which actually tastes like real banana, and is balanced in its sweetness. This is exactly what we are using in this cocktail called This $@&!' Bananas! from @joshperrybar [https://www.instagram.com/joshperrybar/] as featured in the feed of @so

French Intervention

French Intervention

Happy new year! Can you believe we are already saying goodbye to 2017 and at the same time welcoming 2018?! From a cocktail point of view 2017 has been fantastic. Not only have we been fortunate enough to visit several of the world's best bars, but we have also found so many new great recipes that we have tried at home. We obviously want to end this year with a bang. And the French Intervention by liquid talent Shawn @narphorium is a super exciting cocktail to be shaking on new years eve. The
