Tall cocktails are always fun to kick off the weekend with. They are festive, but not overwhelmingly strong. Be a bit cautious though, the Tom and Daisy is easy to sip on, but there is actually quite a lot of old tom gin in it…⠀ ⠀ Seeing yellow Chartreuse in recipes always makes us extra happy. It's when the purple crème de cassis blends with the other three pale ingredients that this drink comes to live. Enhanced by some purple synthetic feathers and lime zest a really colourful cocktail is born. Crème de cassis is supposed to float on top of the drink in this recipe, but it just doesn't work. Chocolaty Solbeso and sweet orange juice is combined with vermouth in this wonderful recipe. Equal parts of these three ingredients pair extremely well and results in a summery yet still rather stiff cocktail. When the sun hit the glass during our photo shoot, the cocktail almost looked like the sun itself. Hence we had to take at least one photo from above to show off the drink's sunny qualities. We’re coming back to our bottle of Flor de Caña [http://flordecana.com/] rum, made in Nicaragua close to an active volcano. So a pretty awesome rum, that also happens to be Fair Trade certified and sustainably sourced. We haven't used our bottle of Solbeso in a while so it was just time to do so. It's a really good product, tasting a lot of chocolate so the drinks mixed on it taste just like that - chocolaty!
